Workshop: debt restructuring

TMA: May social event

There will be no separate Turnaround Management Association - Southern Africa social event in May due to the turnaround conference at Wits Business School (see posting of 29 April 2005).  However, the TMA lecture series (see posting of 29 April 2005), which is also held at WBS, will include the opportunity for attendees to socialise and network in the Executive Dining Room from 17h30 - 18h30.

Topic: Four Models for Rescue: Convergence or Divergence in European Insolvency Laws

Description: A look at the main developments in insolvency law reform in relation to four European Union member states viewed in the context of reforms occurring across Europe.  This paper will seek to identify and outline areas of common interest that underpin recent reform in the four jurisdictions chosen with view to determining whether there is a common direction to these reforms, whereas there had previously been strong resistance to harmonisation of legislation.
